Gathered or Scattered?

Scattering speaks of judgement while gathering suggests blessing. Jeremiah 49:36, says, “I will bring enemies from all directions, and I will scatter the people of Elam to the four winds.” Heavenly Father, we sense the enemy trying to scatter God’s people and we resist that effort because you call us to be gathered! According to Mathew 24:31 “… and they will gather his chosen ones from the four winds.” And Isaiah 11:12 says, “He will gather the scattered people of Judah from the ends of the earth.” Thank you, Father, that your best for us is “gathered”. We believe that you give us hearts to recognize those who feel scattered and alone against a great enemy showing us how to gather them. We gather them under the shadow of your protective wing (Psalm 91). We gather them in the Spirit under the banner of God (Isaiah 62:10). We gather them in love! Thank you for blessing us gathered!

Wickies trimmed wicks on oil lamps in lighthouses enabling light to bore through darkness. This task, although mundane, saved lives. I think of myself as a LightKeeper, trimming, so God's light shines through me. Whether rough seas or smooth sailing, I hope my beckoning beacon shines through darkness so others safely beachhead.
