Valiant Prayers for the Faint of Heart

                           Victory in Lean Times and Lack

      I request, Heavenly Father, that I will experience victory through the lean days, the days of lack, because you give your children tactical foresight.  Like Joseph, lead us to prepare for what’s ahead. Also, Isaac sowed in famine and still harvested 100-fold. You can truly do anything for us!  I trust you to lead me.

     Many people crumble under the prevailing evil of false gods. But we, your children, grieve the present blasphemy and the pompous words of the enemy. We understand that you use lack and leanness to correct the erring ones. Therefore we trust you to provide for us, your children, those who fear your name. You said that your servants will eat and drink while you administer judgment on the wicked. This is the day to finally see the difference between those who serve Adonai with fear and trembling and those who arrogantly shake their fist at you in their troubles.

     In these days of judgment all people, everywhere, will be shaken to the core and blinded to the requirement of repentance by the enemy of their souls. But not with us. No, we won’t be shaken or disturbed because we walk in agreement with the Spirit and He knows all things. We will shine brighter and brighter like stars, full of your wisdom and glory. Just as the wise men followed the star seeking the King of the Jews, we will be stars shining, directing many to Jesus because those wise among us see the star rising in the East and follow it!

Supporting verses: (Take your time with these. Powerful and insightful.)

Isaiah 3:10 & 11

Say to the righteous that it will be well with them,

For they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him,

For the reward of his hands shall be given him.

Isaiah 65:13

“Behold, My servants shall eat,

But you shall be hungry;

Behold My servants shall drink,

But you shall be thirsty;

Behold My servants shall rejoice,

But you shall be ashamed;

Matthew 2:2

“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

Revelation 16:21

Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.

Revelation 9:20

But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons and idols of gold, silver… And they did not repent of their murders or sorceries (“drugs” in some translations) or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Daniel 12:3

Those who are wise will shine

Like the brightness of the firmament,

And to those who turn many to righteousness

Like the stars forever and ever.

Daniel 12:10

Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

Genesis 26:12

When Isaac planted his crops that year, he harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted,  for the Lord blessed him.

Wickies trimmed wicks on oil lamps in lighthouses enabling light to bore through darkness. This task, although mundane, saved lives. I think of myself as a LightKeeper, trimming, so God's light shines through me. Whether rough seas or smooth sailing, I hope my beckoning beacon shines through darkness so others safely beachhead.
