God’s Armor- Rhema Word

“…and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:17

Ahh, Father, I am blessed to know the word of God, logos, which is Jesus (John 1:1). But in that vast truth lies a word, a sword, a rhema word, the perfect sword to defeat my present enemy. And in Ephesians 6:16, the word of God is the rhema word, the right dagger to pierce darkness like the veil of the temple, torn in two separating the division between heaven and earth. I am honored and humbled to think that I can wield this rhema word in battle as Jesus did in Matthew 4:4 when he said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every rhema that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”

I am undone! Praise you, Father! You supply the equipment for the battle and the sword of the word. Like King Jesus in Revelation 19:15 who subdued the nations with the two-edged sword in his mouth I subdue the vilest enemy with the same sword, His word, in Jesus’ name. Amen and amen!

Wickies trimmed wicks on oil lamps in lighthouses enabling light to bore through darkness. This task, although mundane, saved lives. I think of myself as a LightKeeper, trimming, so God's light shines through me. Whether rough seas or smooth sailing, I hope my beckoning beacon shines through darkness so others safely beachhead.
