Dignity… Made in the Image and Likeness of God

Human dignity resides in the fact that we are made in the image and likeness of God. If removed as a rampart of society the rest crumbles under elitism and determinism. When man is seen as a bunch of chemicals and biological components our value degrades to a piece of machinery rather than an awesome design by a Creator, one of a kind. Understanding the enemy’s goal to diminish our dignity between heaven and earth may help us understand the challenge we face. It is the image and likeness of God that he hates. He is warring against us because we are spitting images of Heavenly Father.

Using one battering ram won’t take down a wall but violent battering that doesn’t ease up threatens the integrity of that wall. What one lob over the wall won’t accomplish a barrage will easily take it.

Thus, recidivism of that crime against the image of God has unleashed the present cruelty, violence and addictions. Treating this as a criminal act of treason against our dignity allows us to reject present societal leanings. In lieu of indignity, we who recognize the enemy’s tactics will elevate humanity around us not treating them as a machine to be manipulated to our advantage. No, we stand in awe of our fellow God-image carriers and protect them and their dignity.

Wickies trimmed wicks on oil lamps in lighthouses enabling light to bore through darkness. This task, although mundane, saved lives. I think of myself as a LightKeeper, trimming, so God's light shines through me. Whether rough seas or smooth sailing, I hope my beckoning beacon shines through darkness so others safely beachhead.
